Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Gisby Harrison Solicitors uses cookies and similar
technologies on this website, what each one is for, and how you can control them. It
sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle
personal information more generally.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your
device. Websites also use related technologies — local storage and session storage —
which do much the same job in a different way. The law treats them the same, and so does
this policy: wherever we say “cookies” below, we mean both.
Cookies are not harmful, and they cannot read anything else on your device. They are
used to remember things: that you are signed in, that you have already answered a
question, or that a page has already loaded something once.
Your choices
Cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work do not need your permission,
and are always set. Everything else is set only if you agree.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings control on this site,
or by clearing cookies in your browser. Every major browser also lets you block or
delete cookies entirely — see aboutcookies.org for instructions. Blocking strictly
necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Strictly necessary
Set without asking, because the site cannot do without them.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| CookieControl | Civic Cookie Control | Remembers your cookie choices, so you are not asked again on every page. | 90 days |
| wordpress_logged_in_* wp-settings-* wordpress_test_cookie |
WordPress | Set only if you sign in to manage this website. They keep you signed in and remember your preferences in the admin screens. Visitors are never given these. |

Analytics
Set only if you agree. These tell us how many people visit and which pages they read,
so we can make the site more useful. They do not tell us who you are.
These are not in use yet. They are listed here because the site is
being prepared for them; this policy will be updated when they are switched on.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells one browser apart from another, so repeat visits are not counted twice. | 2 years |
| _ga_XXXXXXXXXX | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a single visit while it is happening. | 2 years |
Content from other websites
Our home page shows our Google reviews. The reviews are loaded by Trustindex from
cdn.trustindex.io, and the reviewers’ profile pictures come from Google.
Trustindex stores the reviews in your browser’s session storage so the page does
not have to fetch them again while you are reading; that is cleared as soon as you close
the tab, and it sets no cookies.
Because this content is served by Google and by Trustindex rather than by us, their
own privacy terms apply to it as well as ours.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising or targeting cookies. We do not sell or share information
collected by cookies, and nothing on this site builds an advertising profile of you.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever the cookies we use change. It was last reviewed on
24 August 2026.
